BeFriend a Book Relaunch

Book online

The Friends of Senate House Library are invited to celebrate the relaunch of the BeFriend a Book scheme in the Durning Lawrence Library at Senate House Library from 18:30 on Thursday 1 June 2017.

This exclusive event will give Friends a chance not only to see some of Senate House Library’s most precious items, but also the opportunity to delve into the world of book conservation and learn more about the work that Senate House Library undertakes to preserve these works for future generations.

Dr Karen Attar, Rare Books Librarian at Senate House Library, will also join the event to give a talk on the private lives of books, giving an insight into the provenance and history of some of the Library’s collections. Guests will also have the chance to meet with the conservators from the Library and view some of the items in need of conservation.
