University of London Alumni

Register online to use the library

Retired academic staff and individuals who graduated with a degree from the University of London, or from one of the 18 independent member institutions of the University of London, are eligible to join Senate House Library.

Alumni membership comes with a ten book borrowing allowance and the added extra of off-site access to a range of major e-resources. These resources may be accessed off-site by clicking on the links below. (Please use the number on the front of your Senate House Library Card when prompted).

To register for alumni membership, you will need to provide proof of graduation, which can include a degree certificate, academic transcript or alumni card from the University of London or one of the member institutions, along with photographic ID and proof of address. If you do not have a certificate, transcript or alumni card, the University of London Development Office may be able to assist you with alternative verification. To find out more about alumni verification, please contact the Development Office by email at development@london.ac.uk for further details.

If you have a current or recently expired student or staff Library membership, you can register for temporary alumni membership for three months while you await the results of your degree. However, you will need to show proof of your Alumni status in order to access e-resources, or renew beyond the initial three month period. Please note, these resources are for private study and non-commercial research only.
