Join us for our free film screening of Girl Rising on Thursday 25 October 2018 from 6pm   *Part of the Rights for Women: London's Pioneers in their Own Words season* #RfW18 #RememberHer Directed by Academy Award Nominee, Richard E. Robbins, written by acclaimed female writers, and voiced by acclaimed actresses including Meryl Streep, Kerry Washington, Anne Hathaway, Salma Hayek and more, Girl Rising proves that one girl with courage is a revolution. Narrated by the stars, the documentary film spotlights the impact access to education could have on the lives of young girls in developing countries — and their local economies. The film, which follows nine girls in places like India, Peru, Haiti, Ethiopia and Cambodia, is directed by Oscar nominee and Scandal writer Richard E. Robbins and is part of 10x10, a global campaign to educate and empower underprivileged girls. The film's most alarming statistic? There are 66 million girls who are not in school. "Many women around the world continue to struggle for equality in education," Hayek said in a statement. "I hope Girl Rising raises the visibility on a global level for this fundamental issue."
